Development Manager, Business Development Unit

        Job Description

  • To establish and maintain departmental Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). To liase with all stakeholders to ensure that the SOP is implementable. Review SOP on periodical times with relevant stake holders for improvement.
  • To manage departmental deliverables to all stake holders in conjunction with head of department. Advise head of department with options on any matter relating to the deliverables.  Deliverables can be in the form of reports, feasibility study, proposal papers, letters, management papers or others.
  • To ensure timely response to stakeholder requirements on matters relating to deliverables and to ensure the response is compliance with standard.
  • To work closely with head of department in preparing department/unit business plan and strategy in relation to overall organization.
  • To create any business opportunities for the group.
  • To prepare business opportunities paper on any potential partners. Communicate with potential partners. Research on the matter prior to discussion with head of department.
  • Update head of department on progress and prepare options for any negotiations required.
  • To undertake feasibility study in conjunction with other relevant stakeholders necessary for the task. To ensure the completeness of the study for discussion and direction from Management.
  • To prepare Board/ Steering Committee /Management papers for presentation to the said committee. Constant discussion with head of department and Management on the content and strategy.
  • To review the departmental budget and expenses periodically. Information to be shared and obtained with finance groups.
  • To prepare Risk Assessment on on-going projects
  • To ensure all payments requisition with proper paper work and departmental format. 
  • To be involved in sale and marketing activities with other departments. Formulate any strategy for the sale and marketing with other departments.
  • To coordinate and monitor all stages of the project development to meet the agreed standard, quality, budget/cost and timeline
  • To participate in development client-consultant meetings and site progress meeting (as required)
  • Undertake any other tasks that being directed by Head of Department or Management

 

Requirement / Skills

  • Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Building Science, or others related field.
  • MBA qualification is an added advantage
  • At least 15 years working experience on construction nature (consultant and contractor) and minimum 5 years in related position (Assistant Manager and Manager position)
  • Good command of Bahasa Malaysia and English languages. Other language: Added advantage.
  • Able to work independent and result oriented
  • Have experience and knowledge on: Computer ( Microsoft applications). CAD and other special software (Added advantage)
  • Have valid driving license. Car or Motorcycles.
  • Willing to travel.
